Building a business is not for the faint...There is a silent heartbreak that many people never talk about.
It’s not failing.
It’s not running out of money.
It’s not even the long hours.
It’s the pain of looking around and realizing that the very people you thought would cheer you on are nowhere to be found.
When I started my business Oyi in 2021 , I was excited and full of hope. Being in a church setup, I naturally believed my brothers and sisters in Christ would happily support me, along with my friends and family.After all everyone knew how l supported others bought items that eventually became gifts to give others all because l have a heart to see others win so l will always support a good cause . In my mind, it felt obvious because they knew me, they knew my heart, so surely they would show up.
But reality quickly kicked in.
I began to notice that only a few people actually supported me. Some even made jokes about it,The majority either stayed silent and some even asked for discounts … while others even expected free items. Funny part is these same people would never walk in a retail store and ask for these for free they happily pay even double your price for a low quality product .You would share your work on social media, hundreds would view your status, but only two people would comment or buy.
And then there are those people who almost feel like monitoring spirits every post, they are there watching, but they will never like, comment, share, or acknowledge anything.
That experience can break your spirit if you let it.
But I quickly realized something important: Thats unfortunately the word we live in now ,where people believe if l support this one they might be too big and out do me or become too rich and this is where we miss the mark.There is enough money in this world to GO Around .There are over 8,3 billion people in the world never let the 0.005% bother you. They are simply not your people.
If someone complains about your price, it doesn’t mean you’re too expensive it means it’s not for them. Don’t lower your value to suit people who don’t value you. The ones who respect your journey and believe in what you’re building will still buy from you.
So don’t be discouraged. Don’t lose heart. Keep doing what you are doing and do it with a full chest.

Don’t stop building!
People Can Only Support the Vision They Understand
Not everyone can see what God has shown you.
To them, it’s just another business.
Just another podcast.
Just another idea.
But to you, it’s purpose.
Vision is often lonely because it is revealed to the visionary first. Before anyone else believes, you must believe. Before anyone else invests, you must invest. Before anyone else applauds, you must keep showing up.
That’s the price of leadership.
Don’t Build for Applause
If your motivation is people’s approval, their silence will destroy your confidence.
Build because you’re called.
Build because someone you’ve never met is praying for exactly what you’re creating.
Build because your obedience today could become someone else’s breakthrough tomorrow.
Never allow the absence of applause to become the reason you abandon your assignment.
Sometimes It’s Not Personal
One of the greatest lessons I’ve had to learn is this:
People aren’t always against you they’re simply on a different journey.
Some are dealing with their own struggles.
Some genuinely don’t understand your vision.
Some don’t know how to support.
Some simply aren’t interested.Some still stuck in the old you
And that’s okay....
Don’t waste energy trying to convince everyone.
Your assignment was never to persuade the whole world.
It was to remain faithful.
Your Biggest Support May Come From Strangers
It’s amazing how often complete strangers become your loudest supporters.
The people who have never met you may buy your products.
They’ll share your content.
They’ll recommend your business.
They’ll believe in your dream before your own circle does.
Why?
Because they aren’t looking at who you used to be.
They’re looking at who you’re becoming.
Don’t despise strangers.
Sometimes God sends destiny helpers from places you never expected.
Keep Showing Up
Every successful person has a season when no one was watching.
Every thriving business started with days of zero orders.
Every influential speaker once spoke to tiny audiences.
Every content creator uploaded videos that barely got views.
Consistency is what separates dreamers from builders.
Don’t quit during the quiet season.
The quiet season is where your character is built.
Celebrate Yourself
If nobody claps today…
Clap for yourself.
Celebrate every small victory.
One customer.
One sale.
One subscriber.
One podcast listener.
One person whose life changed because you refused to give up.
Progress deserves to be celebrated, even when the crowd is absent.
Forgive Those Who Didn’t Show Up
Holding resentment only weighs you down.
Release the disappointment.
Forgive the family members who never shared your business.
Forgive the friends who never bought from you.
Forgive the people who laughed at your ideas.
Not because they deserve it but because your peace is worth protecting.
Bitterness steals energy that should be invested in your purpose.
Keep the Door Open
One day, some of the same people who doubted you may become your supporters.
Welcome them with grace.
Success should never make us arrogant.
Remember where you started.
Remember how it felt to be overlooked.
Let your success soften your heart rather than harden it.

Your value is not determined by the number of people clapping for you.
Your purpose is not cancelled because people don’t understand it.
Keep planting.

And if God gave you the vision, trust that He will also provide what you need to fulfil it.
